BATTERY WARRANTY RULES & POLICIES
At MC Automotive Batteries Kenya, we maintain clear, objective, and transparent warranty guidelines for all automotive, commercial, and start-stop batteries. All claims are assessed purely on technical evidence using calibrated diagnostic equipment.
Core Warranty Rules & Guidelines
These six principles govern all warranty assessments, replacement determinations, and customer claims.
Manufacturer Defect Coverage
Every new battery is guaranteed against internal manufacturing defects in materials, plate grid casting, and internal cell weld partitions from the date of original purchase.
Charging System Voltage Compliance
For a warranty claim to be valid, the vehicle's electrical charging system (alternator and voltage regulator) must operate within the standard technical range of 13.8V to 14.8V under active engine load.
Application & Technology Matching
The battery technology installed must strictly match the vehicle manufacturer's engineered specification. Start-Stop and micro-hybrid vehicles require certified EFB or AGM chemistry to maintain warranty coverage.
Warranty Documentation & Date Stamp
Warranty claims must be accompanied by the original stamped warranty card or verifiable purchase invoice with matching battery serial numbers and date code engravings.
Objective Digital Conductance Testing
All claims are evaluated using calibrated digital battery analyzers measuring Cold Cranking Amperage (CCA), internal cell resistance, and open-circuit resting voltage to generate an objective diagnostic report.
Immediate Replacement Settlement
When diagnostic testing confirms an internal manufacturing failure within the active warranty period, an immediate replacement battery is provided with complimentary on-site installation.
What Is Covered (100% Free Replacement)
Internal manufacturing failures verified by testing
- Internal Cell Disconnection: Sudden open-circuit voltage collapse caused by an internal weld partition or post bridge separation.
- Internal Short Circuit: Dead cell condition resulting from separator puncture, plate shedding, or grid manufacturing imperfection.
- Casting & Container Defects: Acid leakage through sealed factory cover seams or valve seal defects occurring under rated pressure.
- Severe Premature Capacity Loss: Inability to sustain rated cranking current despite confirmed proper vehicle alternator charging.
Technical Exclusions (Not Covered)
External vehicle electrical faults & improper handling
- Alternator Overcharging (>14.8V): Causes electrolyte boiling, container swelling, thermal runaway, and grid oxidation.
- Alternator Undercharging (<13.8V): Results in chronic undercharging and permanent lead sulfate plate hardening.
- Deep Discharge / Parasitic Drain: Battery drained flat (<10.5V) due to vehicle standing idle or aftermarket electrical accessories.
- Application Mismatch: Fitting conventional flooded batteries into start-stop micro-hybrid vehicles requiring EFB or AGM.
- Physical Damage: Broken casing, cracked cover, or melted lead terminals caused by loose or hammered cable clamps.
Official Warranty Claims Procedure
How warranty assessments are conducted at our Pangani workshop facility.
Presentation & Verification
Present the battery with its stamped warranty card or purchase receipt at our Pangani workshop, or initiate an initial review with our technical desk via WhatsApp.
Digital Diagnostic Assessment
Technicians perform digital conductance, load testing, and an alternator charging voltage test to determine whether the issue is an internal cell defect or external charging fault.
Immediate Settlement
Upon verification of an internal manufacturing fault, an immediate replacement unit is issued from stock and professionally installed in your vehicle with terminal protection.
